(Leviticus 7-9, Matthew 25: 31-46)
And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’ (Matthew 25:40 ESV)
The words of Jesus are incredibly challenging. More than that, His directives are impossible to obey in our flesh. Obedience requires the ministry of the Holy Spirit in our lives. We need the Holy Spirit to open our blind eyes so that we can see. Jesus is calling us to see.
We are all blind men. And without the ministry of the Holy Spirit, we will remain blind. We can walk right by Jesus, even as we are hustling to our next worship service. In the name of God, we can easily pass Him by.
God, give us eyes to see you! God is in the dirt. He’s in the low places. He’s easy to overlook. Ah, but the discerning heart will find Him! He’s in forgotten, disregarded places. There you will find Him. Every time, you will find Him.
May we have eyes to see! May our pride be dashed, and may we be truly healed, that we may find heaven everywhere. Our God is not just high and lifted up, He’s low and humble. If you can’t seem to ascend into the heights of heaven, just go lower friend. You’ll find Him. Just go lower.
