(Judges 12-14, Luke 9:37-62)

And Manoah said to the angel of the Lord, “What is your name, so that, when your words come true, we may honor you?” (Judges 13:17)

We have all heard the story of Samson. He was a great champion of Israel, and God used his life to deliver his people. But most of us have never heard the story of Manoah, Samson’s father. It’s Manoah’s life and faith that provoke me. I am convicted by his simple trust! He heard the word and believed it. When he heard the Word of God he never questioned the Word-giver, rather he asked how to partner with the Word.

May this be true of us! Many today search for the next word, the next prophecy, the next directive. I think the Lord is searching for someone who will just believe what He has said. He’s looking for someone who will line up with the directive He has given.

I pray that our faith is like Manoah’s! I pray that we would hear the Word of the Lord and believe it; that we would hear the Word of the Lord and receive it. We don’t need to know everything about everything. We don’t need to be eloquent. We don’t need to have more resources. The solution is much more simple than that. We need to be believing believers!

Read Judges 13. I promise you will be provoked. Get ready to hear. Get ready to believe. Get ready to partner.
