(Exodus 7-8, Matthew 17)

[2] And he was transfigured before them, and his face shone like the sun, and his clothes became white as light.  (Matthew 17:2 ESV)

There are moments that change everything. Moments that we can never recover from, moments which altar the way we see and hear everything in the present, future and even the past. Peter, James and John had been following Jesus for some time. They had witnessed His miracles, heard His teachings, shared meals with Him, and even slept near Him.

But there was a moment that changed everything! “And he was transfigured before them, and his face shone like the sun, and his clothes became white as light.” This moment, this moment of seeing Jesus in His glory with unveiled faces and hearts, changed everything.

Many people follow Jesus, but they have not truly seen Him in His glory. They can quote His message, but they have not known Him as He is. We need what Peter, James and John needed… the revealing of Christ to our hearts.

My prayer is this, “Father, open the eyes of our hearts to see Jesus. We desire to know the hope to which we are called. We want to know your Son, just as we are fully known.”
