(Numbers 23-25, Mark 8:1-21)

In those days, when again a great crowd had gathered, and they had nothing to eat, he called his disciples to him… (Mark 8:1 ESV)

Jesus is not intimidated by lack. He’s not undone by the “impossible.” Every obstacle was an opportunity to lean, and to call upon His Father. Every circumstance was to reveal the glory of God. This is what He teaches all disciples. It’s why He calls his disciples to Him.

Lack is not something to fret over. Opposition is not something to fear, rather call upon the name of the Lord. He hears us, and He will answer. This is what Jesus teaches; this is what He demonstrates.

Jesus is still discipling people today. Every circumstance has been orchestrated to bring us into deeper partnership with our Father. Each situation has been planned to bring us into greater understanding of the Father’s great love for us.

Let’s be good disciples. Let’s come into the instruction of Christ. When we face trouble or hardship, let’s not be pushed back. Let’s not fret! Let’s live into the rest that has been provided for us. Let’s call upon our Father, who loves us! He will answer us. We pray, “Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth just as it is in heaven.”
