(1 Samuel 10-12, Luke 13:22-35)
“O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the city that kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to it! How often would I have gathered your children together as a hen gathers her brood under her wings, and you were not willing! Behold, your house is forsaken. And I tell you, you will not see me until you say, ‘Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!” (Luke 13:34,35)
I’m convinced there is nothing the Lord will not do for those who love Him. Over the years, I’ve become convinced of His goodness, kindness, and over His immense generosity. He’s a good Father. He’s a best friend. He’s closer than any brother. The Lord does not withhold His heart or His love.
God’s heart is moved time and time again toward us. “How often I would have gathered your children together… and you were not willing.” It’s been said that the only people in hell are the ones who want to be there. I believe it! The Lord is just and righteous and loving. He has gone to great extremes to make Himself known and understood by us. He has given all.
Is your heart willing? Are you willing to be gathered to His heart? The Lord is always good! His mercies are new every morning. Are you willing to receive what He has for you today? This is for you. This is for Israel. This is for now!
