(Ruth 1-4, Luke 11:29-54)
And the women of the neighborhood gave him a name, saying, “A son has been born to Naomi.” They named him Obed. He was the father of Jesse, the father of David. (Ruth 4:17)
Our greatest disappointments become the foundation for the Lord’s greatest fulfillment in our lives… if only we don’t loose heart. Naomi felt that she had lost everything, and who could blame her! Her husband had died. Her two sons had died. She was left with nothing. Nothing except Ruth!
Ruth would not leave her. She would not turn back. Though Naomi was brought to her very rock bottom, Ruth would not turn away. “Where you go, I will go. Where you stay, I will stay. Your God will be my God.” Ruth loved Naomi.
Ruth left everything all for the sake of love. And the Lord showed her mercy, kindness and favor. Through Ruth, the Lord did the impossible for Naomi. He provided an heir. With no husband and no sons, the Lord provided. The whole city marveled at what God had done. God had performed the impossible!
Are you facing disappointment? Keep going. Keep pressing. The Lord will perform the impossible for you! He will fulfill His word. You can count on Him.
