(Joshua 21-22, Luke 6:1-27)

Not one word of all the good promises that the Lord had made to the house of Israel had failed; all came to pass. (Joshua 21:45)

I don’t think there is anything more important, more necessary for the believer, than hearing the word of the Lord. There is nothing more imperative! We are not buying into a history lesson of the Gospel. For the Gospel to be good news to us, it must transcend the past and come into our present reality. The Bible, our must holy text, is known as the “Living Word.”

God makes promises for one reason: To fulfill them. He is leading us into more than land and position and territory… The point of whatever journey we are on with Him is ultimately about us learning Him. The promise, whatever it is, is ultimately about us discovering His heart.

The Lord desires to be known. The longing of the Father’s heart toward us is to reveal His Son, Jesus. He gives His Word to fulfill it. He will accomplish everything He promised. Not one word will return to Him void. Not one promise will fail.

How can we truly know the Lord? Before we can birth the fulfillment, we must become pregnant with His promises. What is the Lord saying to you? What are His promises for your life? Make time to hear Him. Make time to listen.
